Dishoom

You’ve probably been to Dishoom for dinner, but have you been for breakfast?

As a big fan of naan(and everything Indian), just a thought that it’s on their brunch menu in combination with bacon and egg made me want to go. But they are also sausage naan, Bombay omelette and lots of chai.

Dishoom is the place that I highly recommend for everything,not just breakfast, because their menu is just fantastic.

Milk

Known as the cutest brunch place in Balham thanks to its charming interior , handcrafted British furniture, free trendy magazines and wifi, and a buzzing atmosphere, located right on Hildreth Street Market.

MILK (formerly known as M1lk) has got breakfast and brunch covered, serving up an ever-changing menu of delicious combinations like marshmallow buckwheat pancakes with plums or edible flower petals that they sprinkled on top. Milk is best known for great eggs menu and the best vegetarian brunch.

Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings

If nothing you have to visit this place only because of beautiful decor. Airy location in Clerkenwell with flower upholstery would make Pinterest worth interior. More important thing is they can do amazing food. Eggs benedict , the hollandaise potato hash or just English breakfast, you can’t choose wrong

Farm Girl

Hidden in a white brick courtyard at the end of Portabello road, Farm Girl cafe is easier to miss than find. Make sure you don’t get lost in a sea of tourists photographing colourful houses and come in to discover this green-tiled heaven.

Rose, Farm girl herself, Stacey, the front of the house and barista Stuart are all from Australia so the service is relaxed and charming in a warm and welcoming environment.

Food is holistic and healthy with fresh, nutritionally nurturing ingredients from porridge and pancakes to chicken sandwich and steak and chips which is served after 11.

Of course, you will need some drink and latte  is always a good choice. For the brave ones, here you can try some unusual types of latte like Rose or Lavander.

Pachamama

Peruvian breakfast? You probably never thought that that kind of thing exist but it’s her, hidden in Marylebone. Place is open for almost 2 years and the dishes on the seasonally-changing menu are designed to share, featuring sea food, vegaetables and grilled meat. But probably the best part of the menu are gluten free, sweet potatoe waffles with sweet and savoury toppings. The are the best looking waffles you’ll ever see. They are changing toppings but it’s always delicious, no matter what is on.

Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

I have weird taste in everything.For example,I love chocolate but I don’t like chocolate ice-cream or pudding.Yeah I know,weirdo.

The same thing is with peanut butter.Even though peanut butter is not very popular in Croatia when I moved to London I decided to try it mainly because everyone were talking about it.

And… I didn’t like it.It was too dry,I felt like it’s choking me 🙂

But when I tried peanut butter cookies…just yummy.I had to find perfect recipe so I can make it on my own and here it is

Prepare Time: 5min       Cooking Time: 10min

Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup peanut butter (chunky or  smooth)
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 cup flour
Instructions
  1. Set oven to 175° C (155° Fan) and lightly grease two cookie sheets.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto the greased cookie sheets.
  4. Lightly press the balls of cookie dough down with a floured fork in 2 directions.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until lightly browned (the cookies will firm up more when cooling, so don’t worry if they still seem squidgy).
  6. Place the biscuits on a wire rack and allow to cool.

Homemade Coconut Ice-cream

Coconut- sweet,milky, tropical flavour that melts in your mouth. Chilled coconut milk is perfect for cooling down under the palm trees . Even better is it’s in the form of ice-cream  so I discovered this easy recipe how to make your own healthy coconut ice cream.

Why coconut? Because it’s tasty and healthy -coconut milk contains a large amount of auric acid  which has antiviral and antibacterial effect.

This is what you need to make coconut ice cream with pistachio crumbs and blueberries :

1 (400 ml/14 oz) can of full fat coconut milk, chilled
2 tbsp maple syrup
pinch of salt
1 vanilla bean or 1 tsp vanilla extract
To serve
Pistachio crumb
Fresh blueberries

Stir together the coconut milk, syrup and salt in a large jug.. Add  vanilla extract to the coconut milk mixture. Stir together until combined. Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Transfer churned ice cream to a lidded container and freeze until serving.

Serve with the pistachio crumb and fresh blueberries.

Iced Coffee Recipe

Coffee is quite possibly my favourite food. Is coffee a food? Yeah, I think so.If you are coffee addict like me you probably can’t imagine a day without at least one morning cup of coffee. Once the weather turns hot and humid, my coffee turns ice cold. I still  start the day with one cup of hot coffee, but after that, it’s cold.

Coffee and dessert in one,it can’t get any better right?

It’s very easy to make ice coffee at home with only few ingredients

Coconut Iced coffee

For this one you will need time because for the best result you will need sweetened condensed coconut milk which you need to simmer with sugar over the fire around one hour or until liquid is reduced by half.When it’s done add vanilla extract.

Separate make ice coffee cubes.So just put coffee into ice trays and froze it.When it’s all done,put the cubes into milk and decorate however you like.

Chocolate Ice Coffee

If you are chocolate addict the good trick will be to add frozen chocolate cubes into your coffee instead regular ice. Simple put chocolate milk into ice tray and when it’s frozen put it in your coffee

Vanilla instead of Ice

You will need 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar ,2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract .

In a small saucepan, combine milk, sugar and vanilla extract over low heat. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour milk mixture into ice cube molds and place in freezer until frozen.

Place 3-4 frozen  Vanilla cubes into a mug and pour hot brewed coffee over them. Add a few more once the first batch melts, if desired.

Delicious Fruit Pie

There is one more reason I like summer- berries. Strawberries,blueberries are my favourite so I found this delicious recipe . In this recipe one more thing is important except berries-my other addiction chocolate .

Ingredients for 6 small pies or 1 bigger

250 g ground biscuits (Digestive)

80 g butter

400g white chocolate

200ml double cream

Berries( Strawberries,Blueberries)

Pistachio

Melt butter and pour over the ground biscuits. Mix together and press into molds for pies. you can use  6 small moulds, or one big. The amount of ingredients will be sufficient for a thin crust.  Place it in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 5 minutes.

The cream is very simple because you can do ganache. For this we need only two ingredients,  chocolate and double cream . Chop the chocolate ,heat the cream to boiling point. Pour the cream over the chocolate and stir the chocolate until it’s melted.

Pour that into molds and put strawberries,blueberries and pistachio on the top

3 Easy Summer Brunches

When it comes to food during the summer I prefer something quick. Lazy as I am in combination  with high temperatures and nice weather  I’m ready to be hungry all day just so I don’t have to move and be close to heat .

But browsing through Instagram I found some good-looking food and what is more important easy to make.

3 ingredient pancakes are big trend in bloggers world at the moment. And they look really photogenic. For this 3-ingredient recipe, you will need only banana, eggs, and 2 spoons of flour, Mix it all together and bake them like regular pancakes.  For 10 small pancakes you will need 2 eggs and 3 bananas . Serve them with strawberries and maple syrup.

I never knew that fried eggs can look that good until I found this recipe . For this you will need little bit more ingredients . You pan fry 2 eggs,spinach ,leek,paprika and then serve it with ricotta cheese and fresh bread

If you want something sweet but still healthy this creamy porridge  is something for you. You will need oats,coconut water,regular water and chia seeds. Mix it in a pot to boil,stirring frequently. When it becomes creamy remove it form heat and serve with blueberries and coconut.
